Phoenix police officers discovered the body of a man responsible for a house robbery in the Trenance Manor area, last Monday.
The officers stated that they responded to a complaint of a murder in Trenance Manor.
Upon their arrival at the scene, they found an unknown man lying in a pool of blood.
They further noticed that the deceased’s hands were tied behind his back with a red rope and his body was tied.
The legs of the deceased were tied together with a belt.
The deceased had sustained an open wound on the forehead and the back of the head was full of lumps.
He also sustained an open wound on the side of his rib cage, consistent with a stab wound.
Next to the body of the deceased was a silver Blue Hyundai i20 which had been damaged on the windscreen as well as the front part of the vehicle.
Communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, Cpt Louise Naidoo, said, “The motive for the murder is vengeance as the deceased had robbed a house in the area and the occupants gave chase to the deceased and assaulted him. No arrests have been made as yet, however, arrests are imminent.”

“The community is urged to stop taking the law into their own hands. Vigilantism is not encouraged by the police as this can result in serious injuries upon the victim or even death. Contact the police instead of taking the law into your own hands,” added Cpt L Naidoo.
