A 22-year-old man was arrested after he was found in possession of 36 pieces of cocaine, worth an estimated R3, 600 in Lenham, recently.
Prior to the arrest, the Crime Prevention Unit were conducting routine duties in the Floralen area.
After noticing a suspicious man, police officers searched him and found 36 pieces of rock cocaine, which is equivalent to two blocks of cocaine.
The suspect was then placed under arrest and detained at the Phoenix police cells for possession of cocaine. He appeared in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court.
Communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, Cpt Louise Naidoo said cocaine is a substance that destroys family’s lives and the moral fibre of the community.
