MF proudly supports seniors’ sports day

MF councillor, Jonathan Annipen, together with members of Elm Senior Citizens at their annual sports day.

Elm Senior Citizens held its annual sports day at the Sacchrine Grounds in Grove End. The event was attended by eighty senior citizen groups who participated in various sports codes.

Event co-ordinator, Fatima Cassim, said that the event brought seniors together as a means of fellowship and a fun-filled day of sporting activity.

Minority Front councillor, Jonathan Annipen, who also attended the occasion said that the sport’s day was a resounding success.

“I have never seen so many energetic, well groomed and healthy seniors participate with such spirit before. The more than 300 attendees had so much fun in their colourfully-themed dress codes. It was most inspiring,” said Cllr Annipen. 

He added, “We sponsored T-shirts and our branded juice and water to all participants and wanted to ensure the organization of our continued support,” said Cllr Annipen.
