Father and son robbed at gunpoint near Woodview Cemetery

A man and his son were robbed at gunpoint while attempting to change a punctured tyre near the Woodview Cemetery, last Tuesday.

It is alleged that the victim was traveling along the R102 near the Woodview Cemetery with his son when the vehicle they were traveling in had a puncture.

As they were busy with the vehicle, they were approached by two unknown men who pointed a firearm at them and robbed them of their belongings.

The suspects took cellphones, wallets with cash, watches and cash to the value of R25, 000. The suspects then fled the scene on foot.

Communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, Cpt Louise Naidoo, said, “No arrests have been made and a case of armed robbery is being investigated. Motorists are encouraged to remain alert and be aware of their surroundings at all times.”
