Three German tourists, in their 80s, were robbed by AK47 wielding suspects while en route to the King Shaka International Airport, over the weekend.
Reaction Unit South Africa was called out to the scene after receiving a call from a passing motorist, who reported an armed robbery in progress on the N2 at the Umdloti Beach off-ramp.
“Upon arrival, it was established that the victims had left the scene to catch their flight. Their driver claimed that he had picked up his clients from their hotel in Umhlanga and was on the way to the airport when they were boxed in by the occupants of a BMW and VW Golf 7,” a report issued by RUSA indicated.
