Six suspects, were apprehended by Reaction Unit South Africa, after they were found inside a stolen vehicle in Upper Tongaat, over the weekend.
According to reports, reaction officers, Hemal Rajakumar and Honest Ntume, were on night patrol on Esenembe farms when they noticed a suspicious vehicle at about 12:27am on Sunday morning.

The reaction officers then conducted an ownership check on the plates. Both reaction officers stopped the vehicle and removed the three male and three female occupants.
Upon inspection of the vehicle, it was found that the chassis number and identification plates were filed off. The disc was missing and the ignition was damaged. A check on the engine number came up positive as a sought after vehicle wanted in the Lamontville area.

According to the suspects, the vehicle belonged to an individual who had passed on. The family had requested that they move the vehicle from KwaMashu to Bhamshela.
All six suspects claimed that they were unaware that the vehicle was stolen and that they had not noticed that the disc was missing from the windscreen. Reaction officers arrested the suspects and handed them over to Umhlali SAPS for further investigation.
