Women warned to be wary of rapists

Phoenix SAPS is warning women seeking employment to be vigilant of rapists. This comes after a 26-year-old woman was promised a job at a factory in the Whitehouse area.

Not knowing the man, she followed him trusting he was going to assist. He then grabbed her and pulled her into the bushes where he raped her.

Cpt L Naidoo, communications officer of  Phoenix SAPS said, “Vulnerable women seeking employment fall prey to suspects all the time who eventually lure them into secluded spots where instead of finding a job, they are raped.”

She added, “We appeal to women who walk around seeking employment not to be trusting of people who you do not know who offer to assist with employment.”
