Theft suspect apprehended in Verulam CBD

A suspect was arrested after he allegedly attempted to steal used mechanical parts from a business on Groom Street in the Verulam CBD, last week.

It is believed that the man is a habitual criminal and was previously arrested by members of Reaction Unit South Africa for crimes relating to theft and possession of drugs.

On the day of the incident, members of RUSA were called out to the scene and upon arrival, it was established that the suspect attempted to steal a cylinder head from the rear of the workshop.

The owner of the business and staff witnessed the theft in progress. They pursued and apprehended the suspect, who was found in possession of the stolen cylinder head.
