Police probe gruesome discovery

Phoenix SAPS are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a body of an unidentified male was found on Eastbury Drive on Saturday.

According to Phoenix SAPS communications officer, Cpt Louise Naidoo, members responded to a complaint of two bodies lying on the road.

Upon arrival, police discovered the body of a man with his legs twisted and had sustained several bruises on his head. The deceased’s intestines were hanging out of his stomach and was certified dead at the scene by paramedics.

Cpt Naidoo said upon further inspection, police officers noticed a broken vehicle in the proximity of where the body was found.

A second man who was also injured was found lying next to the vehicle. The man was unconscious and was taken to Gandhi Hospital for medical attention that he required.
