Limpopo resident stabbed, robbed in Verulam

The injured victim was treated by paramedics.

A 34-year-old Limpopo resident was stabbed in the head during a robbery near the train station on Todd Street in the Verulam CBD, on Saturday.

According to a report issued by Reaction Unit South Africa, the man arrived at their offices on Russom Street seeking medical assistance. He was bleeding profusely from an open wound to his head. The man claimed that he was walking towards the train station when he was accosted by three suspects.

One suspect drew a knife and demanded that the victim hand over his valuables. When the man resisted, the suspect stabbed him in the head before searching and robbing him of R2800 and his cellphone. The suspects fled the scene on foot. The injured victim was treated by paramedics.
