AFSKSA karatekas compete in world championships

Shihan Selvan Govender with his senseis and students who will be competing in the 17th FSKA World Championships in Gauteng from August 28-30.

The Association of Funakoshi Shotokan Karate South Africa will be participating in its 17th Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association World Championships.

This tournament will be contested amongst all FSKA World Affiliates from around the globe at the Walter Sisulu Hall in Gauteng from August 28-30. Shihan Selvan Govender (6th Dan), president and chief instructor of the association said that his team of karatekas have been put through an intense training programme at its main dojo, the Getfit Fitness Centre in Westville, ahead of the world tournament.

He also expressed his gratitude to all senseis for preparing the team for this tournament that is hosted annually throughout the world. Due to the tournament being held in South Africa, many parents will be travelling with the team as supporters of AFSKSA and will be cheering their children to podium finish.
