Trio arrested for robbery

Three men, between the ages of 22 and 31, were arrested after committing a robbery in Northcroft on Saturday. It is alleged by the victim that on Saturday, he was with a friend and they were travelling in his motor vehicle when they were stopped by another vehicle which suddenly stopped in front of them blacking their vehicle.

It is further alleged that three men alighted the vehicle and approached the victims and his friend. The trio demanded their cellphone and cash and also damaged their motor vehicle which cost the victim R46, 000.

The suspect got back into their vehicle and drove off. After the matter was reported, the detectives went in search of the suspects and successfully arrested the three.

Phoenix SAPS communications officer, Cpt Louise Naidoo, confirmed the incident and said the suspects appeared in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
