Solvista Primary School pupil, Suvasha Ganess, flaunts her trophies for being selected for the South African debating team.

Solvista Secondary School grade nine pupil, Suvasha Ganess, who recently represented the South African Junior Debating Team at the Asian World Schools Style Debating Championships, thanked her sponsors for making her trip a huge success and fulfilling one of her dreams.

The 15-year-old debater is ranked in the top 20 of the best junior debaters in the country as well as her provincial team who ranks ninth in the country at the 2016 National Debating Championships.

She was selected out of 18 trialists in the South African junior team and was unanimously selected to form a part of the team that would represent the country in July.

“I would like to extend a special thanks to my school principal, Dr DR Naidoo, who played a major role in helping making my trip a success and securing one of my biggest sponsors,” said Ganess.

The accomplished debater said the competition was tough and among 54 teams, her team made it to the finals, however, they lost to India in the finals.
